Integrating Oral & Medical Health Care:  Highlights in the Economic Perspective

This talk highlights the economic perspective on modifying the current health coverage model that separates the oral cavity from the rest of the body. 

After this lecture, attendees should be able to:

  1. Discuss the impact of oral health on the health care system and society at large.  
  2. Recognize the rational and analyze the cost effectiveness of integrating oral health into the medical coverage system.
  3. Review various models of the artificial and counterproductive separation of the mouth from the rest of the body in medical coverage and reimbursement plans.
