Quality of Life Improvement in Head and Neck Cancer Patients: the Role of the Nutritionist  

This talk focus on the nutritional challenges faced by patients undergoing therapy for head and neck cancer and highlights the importance of interprofessional collaboration between Oral Medicine and the Nutritional Sciences.

After this lecture, attendees should be able to:

  1. Review the importance of proper nutrition in the head and neck cancer population.
  2. Examine the various treatment-related factors in head and neck cancer patients that increase the risk for malnutrition.
  3. Familiarize audience with the clinical strategies for optimizing nutritional intake before, during, and after cancer therapy.
